D and C Risks
There are some that will say that that a D and C (Dilation and Curettage) procedure has little to no risks but is this really true? The fact of the matter is that a D and C has many risks and they can be quite severe in terms of their effects. Some of these risks include the following:

Bleeding. This is the greatest risk for a woman that is considering having a D and C. It is rare but a possibility that woman can have severe bleeding that can lead to death. Anytime a procedure like this is done there runs this risk.

Infection. This is another risk that is always present whenever anyone has a surgical procedure performed. The chance of running an infection is minimal but it does happen more than most people realize.

Perforation. Tearing and internal bleeding are also a risk that is very real when a woman goes in for a D and C. There have been a number of deaths that have occurred as a result of this procedure.
There are a number of other risks but these are these are those which are life threatening. Do not just brush off these risks as if they will never happen to you as they are possible. The biggest risk that anyone faces when they go in for surgery relates to anesthesia.

Some of the other side effects from this procedure are: Intense Bleeding from the Vagina,
Vaginal Discharge, Stomach pain, and Fever. There are also cases after the completion of a D and C that an accumulation of scar tissue can develop inside the uterus. This often leads to infertility.
